NEWS RELEASE
Nov. 27, 2007 Equestrian Sport Promotions Appoints Veteran Newsman, Media Entrepreneur as Director of Communications WELLINGTON, Fla. Nov. 27--Kenneth J. Braddick, a veteran news correspondent and media entrepreneur, will head up communications operations for Equestrian Sport Productions, LLC (ESP) that will manage events including the Winter Equestrian Festival at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, Florida. "We are delighted to have Braddick and his Equestrian Publishing Corp. as a vital member of our team to develop and promote equestrian events that will be the best in the world," said Mark Bellissimo, managing partner of Wellington Equestrian Partners that owns ESP. "Ken will lead our effort to communicate our activities and plans to everyone who has a stake in our events--riders, trainers, owners, sponsors, vendors, spectators and the communities where we live and work," Bellissimo said. “Further, we will be introducing a number of new communications initiatives this year including an official ESP website with results, stories, and photos; the official WEF Daily Results Reporting email; WEF Weekly Newsletter; as well as the production of an annual 'WEF Yearbook' that will include a photo essay of the Festival." The full color glossy magazine, HorseSport USA, that was created by Braddick five years ago and focuses coverage on high performance dressage, jumping and hunters around the world has been acquired by ESP. Braddick will remain as editor and publisher. Braddick worked as a correspondent in the Asia/Pacific region for 15 years, including five years covering wars and other major events in Indochina, India-Pakistan and throughout Southeast Asia. He served as the editor of United Press International's foreign news services based in New York, and later as general manager of the wire service's 1,000 employees in 160 bureaus around the world. He was one of the two founders and developers of a pioneering and technologically advanced satellite network that distributed photos and news services throughout North America for the leading media corporations, The New York Times, News Corp., Tribune Co., Knight-Ridder, Scripps-Howard, Reuters, Agence France Presse and others. After the company was sold to a European media conglomerate, Braddick created an electronic network to distribute news and information from contributors anywhere in the world to any end user that was a precursor of Internet email services. To combine his two passions of media and horses, he moved to Wellington 10 years ago and helped found a high end commercial stock photo agency, Digital Vision, that was later moved to London and sold two years ago to Getty Images. As editor of HorseSport USA, Braddick has covered the world's top equestrian events, including the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany, the annual dressage and jumping World Cups, Pan American Games, Samsung Super League and other major horse shows in Europe and North America. Braddick is married to the Australian dressage trainer and competitor, Ilse Schwarz. Photo: Ken Braddick at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany in 2006. |
